Magnets in Action United
A wavetable synthesizer that sculpts sound with magnetic forces. Place virtual magnets, bend the waveform, and hear new textures emerge in real-time.
Place magnets on the waveform to sculpt sound in real-time. Flick them or modulate their position and shape.
8 LFOs, 8 envelopes, 8 step sequencers, Wave Followers, Action Formula and Magnet Recorder — modulate anything.
Compressor, Chorus, delay, reverb, and per-magnet FX.
See your sound change as you shape it. You are working inside a (simulated) Oscilloscope
MIAU is a wavetable synthesizer where you sculpt sound the way a painter works on canvas. You work inside an oscilloscope — choose the "Silence" waveform for a blank slate, or start with another waveform shape. Then place magnets that pull and push the wave to your liking.
Each magnet can take on a wide range of shapes, have different effects applied, and use delay and feedback to replicate across the waveform. You can throw them around — have them bounce off walls or fly freely — and adjust their speed. By assigning magnets to slots 1 and 2, MIAU generates up to three waveforms simultaneously, which you can stack or pan independently.
Beyond the built-in suboscillator, MIAU features Sub Source — it blends the sub wave's displacement directly into the main voice rather than just layering a lower octave underneath. The result is a deep, fused bass character you won't get from a typical sub.
With +1 and +2 octave knobs, you can stack up to four octaves (Sub, Main, +1 and +2), 3 of them with separate detune. Pan the oscillator itself to split its left and right sides for wide stereo imaging.
Zoom into the waveform on both the X and Y axis, zoom out, shift its center, or warp it. Several macros affect all magnets or all modulators at once — especially powerful when you've stacked octaves and spread them across the stereo field.
Switch to generative mode, where magnets attract, collide, and repel each other, producing unexpected textures and movement. When something catches your ear, capture it with the built-in recorder and develop it further.
This synthesizer is completely unexplored yet. It´s simple to learn as the visual feedback is very helpful. It's a work in progress and will be updated frequently. It´s our new flagship product. We are excited to see what it can do. At the same time we´re also open to feedback and suggestions for improvements.
The demo version is free to download. Preset saving is disabled, and a brief mute occurs every few minutes. Currently available for macOS, with Windows coming soon.
MIAU is currently in alpha testing. Enter your license key in the plugin to activate.
